We are no strangers to duct tape, but what is the process of producing duct tape? What kind of machine is used to produce it?

Tape coating machine is a kind of machine and equipment used for coating BOPP tape. It is a necessary machine for many tape production companies.

I. Production process (coating)

The production process of coating BOPP with a layer of butyl acrylate pressure sensitive adhesive is called coating and is quite simple!

Two. Understanding the coating machine

The size of the coating machine is relatively large, the coating machine on the market not only in the width of the difference in length, but also due to the design of different speeds and differences. According to Zhuochuang statistics show that there are 0.5 m, 1 m, 1.3 m and 1.6 m coating machine, of which, 1.3 m is the most common, accounting for about 80% of the national use; 0.5 m and 1 m are mostly used by manufacturers to do lettering, printing type of tape; 1.6 m coating machine has only gradually flourished in recent years. The length of the coater is 30-40 metres (designed for drying glue).

III. Coating process (squeegee + wire rod)

There are two coating processes in the coating machine, namely, wire rod and scraper. Squeegee is the traditional coating process, its advantages are: can get high smoothness and gloss; disadvantages are: higher requirements for the original film, the speed of coating glue is relatively slow. Wire rod as a coating process just emerged in recent years, its advantages are: low requirements for the original film, faster coating speed, can adapt to the high solid content of the coating; disadvantages are: small adjustable range of the amount of coating, metering rod is easy to break, the quality of the glue requires high. Each process has the flash point of each process, the two processes can only coexist, can not eliminate any of them.

Four. Coating speed (process survival)

The production process of coating machine is divided into wire rod process and scraper process, generally speaking, the production speed of wire rod machine is faster than scraper machine. According to the statistics of Zhuochuang, the current production speed of the wire rod machine is 250-260 m/min, 280-290 m/min, and part of it can be more than 300 m/min; while the production speed of the scraper machine is 220-230 m/min, 180-190 m/min, 150 m/min, and even part of the old line is around 100 m/min. Therefore, the production capacity of each coating machine is still quite disparate.

V. Tape production specific steps

1, add raw materials: the first thing to do in the tape production process is to add tape raw materials, such as: acrylic.

2, emulsifying tank: then the acrylic tape raw materials added to the emulsifying tank for emulsification.

3、Reaction pot: acrylic acid is added into the emulsifying tank for emulsification, and then put it into the reaction pot for heating.

4、Glue: through the above tape production process steps to produce a finished product of glue.

5、Coating machine: put the freshly made glue on the film for gluing.

6、Semi-finished products：The semi-finished products made by these tape production process - mother roll.

7、Cutting machine: The mother roll of the tape just made will be cut by the cutting machine for the cutting process.

8、Slitter：After the mother roll of tape is cut successfully, the tape production process is carried out by the slitting machine for slitting.

9、Carton:the master roll of adhesive tape is cut into tubes and slit into the adhesive tape that people see in the market, and now it can be packed in carton.

10, tape: the packaged tape placed in the warehouse, this is the last tape production process, this time it can be called finished tape.
