What is the process of running a coating machine?

Coater: It is a machine that melts solid hot melt adhesive and transports the melted liquid adhesive to the adhesive coating device for coating the substrate through the pressurised device. It is an electromechanical device that combines precise temperature control, fluid pressure delivery and extrusion coating functions. Operation process.

The coating machine contains: coating, drying, hot pressing, cooling and other units.

①Coating unit

According to different machine design, the coating of the glue on the way there are roller coating and scraper coating. The glue coating surface can be on top of, underneath, or on top of the film. Different coating methods make the glue penetrate and form a film on the substrate differently, and of course the effect on the adhesion is also different. In addition, the presence or absence of patterns on the coating wheels and the pattern of the patterns also affect the difficulty of adhesive banding as well as the shape of the adhesive coating (full coating, dotted coating, ...). The special pattern of the coating wheel and the corresponding glue can even produce high-performance products, such as breathable, ultra-soft feel, and so on.

Drying Unit

Whether there is an oven or not, or the length and drying method (hot air circulation or infrared assisted), also with the chosen model and roller or squeegee coating and have different designs. The evaporation rate of the glue solvent is closely related to the drying conditions of the machine, so how to adjust to the appropriate temperature required by the material, it is essential to make the lamination still have good adhesion.

③Hot press unit

The size of the hot pressing wheel, the surface temperature, the length of the pressing time will be related to the residual solvent evaporation efficiency, the degree of activation of the glue and the effect of lamination.

④Cooling unit

The finished product is cooled by the cooling wheel before curling, which can promote the crystallisation of the glue, enhance the initial adhesion and avoid the displacement of the laminated material during curling.
