PP (polypropylene), polypropylene, is a light thermoplastic synthetic resin with excellent performance, with chemical resistance, heat resistance, electrical insulation, high strength mechanical properties and good abrasion resistance processing properties. However, most of what we see on the market is modified PP, which is chemically, physically and transparently modified to give it better colourability, processability, impact resistance and higher transparency. It is also used in a wide range of applications, including fibre products (clothing, blankets), automotive parts, chemical containers, food and drug packaging, etc.
PS (polystyrene), polystyrene, includes ordinary polystyrene, expanded polystyrene (EPS), high impact polystyrene (HIPS) and interstitial polystyrene (SPS). Common polystyrene is a colourless and transparent granule with excellent thermal insulation and transparency, which can be easily coloured. Applications include the building materials industry, the automotive industry, the packaging industry and many more.
In the field of extruded sheets, PP and PS are also ubiquitous in our daily lives. PP sheets, not only have high transparency, good barrier properties, low density, non-toxic and hygienic, but can also be recycled and do not produce toxic and harmful gases when heated and burned. PS is similar to PP in terms of performance and also performs well in food packaging, and is also used in the packaging of electronic products due to its low static electricity generation.

The PP/PS sheet extrusion line, one of Sumino Seiko's main products, has an absolute advantage in the larger environmental market. Since its establishment, Nanjing Sumino Seiko has been focusing on the independent research and development of core components, both in terms of the overall performance of the equipment and in terms of cost performance.
Choice of machine type
In the current market, PP/PS extruders are still mostly single-screw models, which are much less costly than twin-screw models. Sumino Precision's PP/PS sheet extruder line has a stable feed and is able to plasticise the material well in a wide range of formulations, ensuring the toughness of the sheet and avoiding problems such as cracking and uneven colouring in the later stages of thermoforming. In addition, we have not lost sight of the "capacity" of our single-screw machines, which are currently capable of producing up to 1.5 tonnes per hour of PP sheet.
The twin-screw model, although more costly, is superior in all other respects to the single-screw. The twin-screw, with its more flexible design of the threaded structure, ensures a better feeding of the extruder and at the same time gives a better dispersion of the formulation material in the barrel and the sheet will be more homogeneous.
Compared to equivalent models on the market, our machines offer a better price/performance ratio.
Equipment features
1. Both single and twin screw machines are designed for both PP and PS production. The single screw has a longer length to diameter ratio and increased vacuum exhaust; the twin screw model has a vacuum system designed to suit the twin screw mainframe, ensuring that the water vapour is fully discharged from the material, thus ensuring the performance of the sheet.
2. The special "one-touch acceleration" function enables the machine to be adjusted at low speed and produced at high speed without fluctuation, thus minimising the scrap rate of the sheet.
3. The winder is available in both conventional and fully automatic configurations to meet the needs of customers for general small and large production volumes, directly helping to reduce labour costs. In addition, the fully automatic winder can be used to wind thicker sheets without jams or unwinded rolls.
4. Efficient and stable control system makes the pressure and speed of the machine more stable. The precise control system allows the machine to be used with ease in terms of output and performance.
Control system
1. Intelligence is the trend of development in today's world and an inevitable trend, which is also a booster for us to step into a new level. It is also the unremitting pursuit of Chunti to make the intelligence in the basic equipment more professional.
2. The whole equipment adopts the international first-class brand - Siemens frequency conversion, servo control, Ethernet conduction technology control, to achieve high efficiency, high precision, high stability and high security
3. 100M/s high-speed network transmission reduces the errors caused by the transmission between the control system and the drive, making the equipment more efficient.
4. HMI human-machine interface, centralised control system, realises the whole system parameters on one screen, such as: current, pressure, speed, temperature, etc., making the operation more simple
5. Digitalisation enables our equipment to quickly locate errors in case of faults and enables remote maintenance. Channel-level diagnosis and error analysis can be achieved through the HMI, greatly reducing commissioning and production downtime. A highly digital, intelligent system makes commissioning easier and maintenance more convenient.
